Marshall White Center Art

Damon Lamar Reed

Damon Lamar Reed's latest public artwork graces the entrance of The Marshall N. White Center in Ogden, Utah, a vibrant tribute to Marshall's profound dedication to Family, Community, Service, and Unity. Titled “The Marvelous Life of Marshall N. White,” the piece unfurls the multifaceted legacy that cemented White's significance. A colorful array of broken tile and shimmering mirror surrounds poignant black and white snapshots of his cherished family and distinguished careers – military service, doctor, detective, and beyond. Anchoring the composition is an eight-foot portrait of White, crowned by character-defining attributes such as father, leader, gentleman, and hero. Heartfelt quotes, crafted by community members and students, weave throughout the mural, embodying the spirit of the Center, while dynamic 3D relief elements sculpt his story with captivating creativity. Ultimately, Reed envisioned this mural as an enduring beacon of beauty, a powerful testament that truly honors the indelible legacy of Marshall White.
