Grant Avenue Don Rimx Murals

Grant Avenue Murals were completed in 2021.  Five 40' x 50' murals along Grant Ave from 22nd street to 24th street were painted by world-renowned muralist Don Rimx.  The Ogden City Grant Ave mural project was Don Rimx's biggest project to date. Don Rimx has painted murals in New York, California, Florida, Washington, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. For more about Don Rimx check out his website www.donrimx.com.

Mural #1  “Perfil Ancestral” This piece was designed in honor of the local indigenous Ute tribe.  The Ute people occupied and developed these lands. It is an image that projects mysticism and the relationship and connection with nature.

Mural #2 “Mano Trabajadora” Inspired by all those people who, for different reasons, left their home country to work in the urban development of this territory. It relays the feelings of hope and opportunity.

Mural #3 “La Unión” is the train that guided transportation, development, and the economy of the area. It is a very important landmark of Ogden and of the beginning of interstate travel in the United States. The railroad represents a very big challenge that was achieved with clear goals and consistency.

Mural #4 “Mrs. Rodeo” accentuates the local culture and customs of the town. Honoring women, the rodeo, simplicity and sharing.

Mural #5 “Joe McQueen” was designed in homage of this great, inspiring human being. He was a professional musician who became a very special part of this community. The spirit and memories of Joe are treasured by everyone who met him.
